Compare CSS Products

This is the legacy version of CS-Studio, based on Eclipse. SNS had to stop updating it in May 2019. We suggest that you switch to the current CS-Studio development that removes the Eclipse/RCP dependency from CS-Studio, see Phoebus.

CSS is a collection of Eclipse Plug-ins which then get combined into a Product.

We offer

• A Basic EPICS product where the startup screen guides you through the EPICS Channel Access settings.
• A product pre-configured for the SNS Office network with support for the SNS ELog, Channel Access Gateway, Oracle Database.
• The SNS Control Room uses the same SNS Office product with optional features like Alarm System GUI added from the update site.

• Web OPI (3.3): Runs CS-Studio/BOY inside Tomcat, based on Eclipse RAP. Was at the time convenient to implement because the same source code that runs in Eclipse RCP could now be used for a web-accessible application. Performance, however, is low. While the RCP version can directly draw on the screen, the RAP version sends descriptions of each drawing operation as text to the web browser.
